Mission

The mission of the Finance Department is to safeguard city assets, provide timely and qualitative services in a friendly manner to all internal and external customers, and continuously seek positive change.

Services Provided

The Finance Department provides the following services for the city:

  • Assists in the issuance of bonds or other indebtedness of the city
  • Grant and intergovernmental revenue administration
  • Manages billing and collection of public utilities provided to residents and businesses
  • Manages the collection of revenues and investment of idle funds
  • Pays bills incurred for city purchases of products and services
  • Prepares periodic and annual financial and budget reports
  • Processes payroll for all city employees
  • Provide assistance to complete the five-year Capital Improvement Plan
  • Provides for the fiscal management and processing of all accounting transactions for all funds of the city
  • Works with Dakota County to maintain special assessment records
