Mission
The mission of the Finance Department is to safeguard city assets, provide timely and qualitative services in a friendly manner to all internal and external customers, and continuously seek positive change.
Services Provided
The Finance Department provides the following services for the city:
- Assists in the issuance of bonds or other indebtedness of the city
- Grant and intergovernmental revenue administration
- Manages billing and collection of public utilities provided to residents and businesses
- Manages the collection of revenues and investment of idle funds
- Pays bills incurred for city purchases of products and services
- Prepares periodic and annual financial and budget reports
- Processes payroll for all city employees
- Provide assistance to complete the five-year Capital Improvement Plan
- Provides for the fiscal management and processing of all accounting transactions for all funds of the city
- Works with Dakota County to maintain special assessment records
