Philip earned his degree in Aviation Management Degree at the University of North Dakota – Grand Forks in May 2007. Philip has his Commercial and Flight Instructor pilot certificates, and Instrument, Multi-Engine, and High Performance ratings. He has also had some aerobatic training.
Prior to coming to Fleming Field in August of 2015, he was the manager at the Brookings, South Dakota airport for 5 year; and prior to Brookings, he was the airport operations manager in Midland, Texas for 4 years. Philip has earned the Certified Member (C.M.) designation from the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).
Airport Operations Specialist:
Joseph Carney has been the Airport Operations Specialist of the Fleming Field, for the City of South St. Paul, MN since October of 2014, Joseph is learning how to manage the successful Air & Land side operations of Fleming Field Airport under the tutelage of Philip. Fleming Field is a familiar airport for pilots in the metropolitan area for use as a business and training airport.
Joseph started his education going to Kansas City, KS Community College Ocean County College, with an emphasis on his general education. After 2 years at the college Joseph enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he remained for 22 years. Upon his retirement Joseph changed his career and began working with the Kansas Highway Patrol as a Dispatcher. In 2011 Joseph went back to school at Kansas State University – Salina to pursue a degree in Airport Management, graduating in May of 2014.
Joseph earned the Certified Member (C.M.) designation from the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). He has his Private Pilot’s License with Instrument Certification.
